This week on Mixed Media Monday the theme was "Show us what your country means to you" In the mid 80’s Ganggajang had a one hit wonder called “Sounds of Then”
Out on the patio we’d sit,
And the humidity we’d breathe,
We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields
Laugh and think, this is Australia.
These words encapsulate North Queensland during the Wet Season. (Over January we have had 538mm (21.5 in) of rain currently at 9 pm it is 32 degrees C (mid 80’s F) and 85% humidity) The Southern Cross constellation is part of the Australian identity and appears on the Australian flag.
