I began
embodiment with great enthusiasm I had just missed the cut off point at the beginning of the year before.
I wrote every day for four months feeling very uncomfortable about putting personal stuff down on paper the whole time; I completed one journal and didn't start the next. I began a text journal because I am more comfortable with writing, however, after a five month break, I started my art journalling again and have kept it up for the last three months.
My personal revelation was finding Soul journalling. (www.caspiana.com.) She suggests writing down the personal and then covering the majority with gesso and other artwork. This suited me just fine. I did not re-read entries. I don’t want to remember the things that made me crabby, or frustrated me, or sad.
Next year, I aim to do something everyday in my journal, but it may just be a layer of paint and I am not going to get hung up it I miss a day. Wednesdays in particular are busy. To get to the end of the year with a journal that I have worked on throughout the entire year will be a great achievement.
