This week’s topic for Mixed Media Monday is “Home Sweet Home”.  I had recently portrayed my house in my soul journal just last month and so was thinking about other homes, such as bird houses, and in turn nests. This thought evoked memories of conversations held just last week with my teenage son on the night of his last day of High School. The routine he has known for the last 12 years is suddenly no longer. Flying the family nest will bring him all sorts of challenges but hopefully he will always remember “Home Sweet Home”.

 I stamped the tree stamps onto a piece of paper, scanned, enlarged and printed via the computer, and then painted with watercolour. The chick is from a photo I took of a Fig Bird’s nest visible from my balcony.
